So I headed to the corner bakery and picked up the most delicious Cinnamon swirled french toast, eggs, bacon, and YUMMY hot chocolate. It was really good! So we decided to make Bryn’s 8th birthday extra special and surprised them with a weekend in SLC. We had a free hotel stay we needed to use, and we had two options in SLC. I booked at a Marriot hotel. It was nice but it was in the middle of U of U. It was more of a convention/ business center hotel. Which was good and bad. I felt like my kids needed to be extra good, and yet we were the only ones at the pool which was AWESOME! The zoo was 4 blocks away, and downtown was a quick drive too.
We started the trip with a stop at Build A Bear. Not Matt and My favorite place to go with 5 kids. We knew we were sure to spend a wad of cash there. But it was really the only present Brynlee was insisting. She wanted a Hello Kitty bear from Build a Bear. It was actually a lot of fun. And the kids love on their bears every night.

With some much needed help from mom’s, they baked 5 different loaves of bread at Miya’s. They used the same recipe and just left different ingredients out. They were testing if the bread would still be good if there was a missing ingredient. Then they came to our house and I helped them make their poster. FUN FUN FUN! They came up with the conclusion that the bread was the best with all the ingredients in it. They ended up placing third out of their whole grade. We are so proud of her. Good job Kar!

She counted down the days and talked about what she wanted to do every day. We agreed on a Pool Party in the backyard. When the day came and the party was over, she asked if it was time for the movie now. I told her we weren’t doing a movie and she was a little upset. Apparently she figured since Karlee watched a movie for her b-day, that she was going to do that too. She is my party girl. We had a blast! It’s fun having a birthday to celebrate in the middle of the summer.

I miss having my littlest sis Mary close enough to enjoy these fun times. Someday we will all be together again :)
We love a Girls Weekend trip together. It’s been over 9 years since we took one to St. George. A lot has changed since then :) Mandy lives there now so we had a really good excuse to go visit and hang out. Her Grandparent-in-laws have a condo we were able to stay at. We had good food, good fun, and super cute toes after giving ourselves pedicures. I love you gals!

It was really cool. It’s located across from the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. I had been there before one other time but I didn’t realize how big and cool it was until I went through with Karlee. When the pioneers traveled to Utah this is the spot where Brigham Young said “This is the Place”, and they knew this is where they were to build there homes.
Karlee saw the black smith at work, learned about the handcarts, then was able to try them out. This is definitely a must see.

So since I never blog things until a few months after they happen, I forget some of the specifics. I feel bad about that. I wish I could remember every little thing. I am going to squeeze a few things that happened in May into this blog entry, so that I can move on to the summer. First off we searched and searched for a perfect new family car. It was tough but we finally realized that there really is nothing better than a Honda Oddysey. So I wish I had taken more pics of the Oddysey’s but we went from a 2003 Black minivan, to a 2010 Silver minivan. We love it. It actually fits 8 people instead of 7, and there actually is a little more room inside. It is awesome. The night we went to look at vans we didn’t plan on purchasing one. After getting a deal we didn’t think we could pass up we spent a few unexpected hours wrapping things up. After Addi had a huge blow out that I was not prepared for. We sat in the old van waiting for the new van, and I got some cute pics of her behind the wheel.

Well actually I don’t that you can ever take tooo many pictures. I just have a lot to choose from. Every night my mom had a special dinner planned for us. She told everyone it was my birthday and I kept my birthday pin on. Needless to say I got sung to a lot on this trip. Happy birthday to me :) My favorite dinner was at Ariel’s Grotto. The food was sooo much fun and super yummy. We also got our fair share of time with the princesses. First here are some pics from going on the Huge Ferris wheel. Brynlee is my little one who is scared of heights so she was crying the whole time. I got one smile out of her.
